Who Saves The Life Saving Station
A lifesaving station on the east shore of Sandy Hook was built in 1894 to serve as central location where lifesaving efforts would be launched to rescue persons involved in shipwrecks that were common along the United States coastline in that era. In 2012 the station was severely damaged by Superstorm Sandy as is currently closed to the public.
